We met at Beech Hill school in Wigan aged five (see photograph) and have been in touch ever since, so I have lost a life long friend. My late, single life would not been as happy without Doreen's friendship. She always listened with patience and understanding. I was invited to join them on holidays here, there and everywhere, exchanging regular visits to Wigan and Woking. Our children Jacqueline and Richard, Viki and Peter also became part of the extended family, with us gaining additional "auntie and uncle" status. I shared her joy at the birth of her grand daughter Rachel (attending her wedding to Peter - see photograph) and more recently at the birth of her great grand daughter Katie. So many treasured memories with lots of happy snaps to record them.
